animal communicator, tami seegrist mcminn and her beloved dog lily

HI, I’M TAMI

An animal lover and empath from early on, I have always had a deep connection with animals of all kinds. Cows, goats, chickens, dogs, turkeys, bees, butterflies, mice — you name it. If an animal needed help I have invariably been the one people would reach out to for help.

I spent the early part of my professional life in corporate marketing, the bulk of it in the movie industry. Seeking a life with more fulfillment I transitioned from the movie industry; headed back to school to earn my 500 RYT and became a yoga teacher. However, in 2013 an opportunity presented itself to serve as Communications Director for Pasado’s Safe Haven, a nonprofit organization dedicated to ending animal cruelty. I had longed to be involved with this incredible group for years and accepting this role changed the trajectory of my life.

Just prior to me starting my new role there, Pasado’s Safe Haven and four other rescues saved 72 dogs from a severe hoarding case and I welcomed one, an American Foxhound named Lily, into my home as a temporary foster. As someone who suffers with diagnosed PTSD myself I knew the deep trauma this beautiful soul was experiencing and wanted to do what I could to help her heal so she could find her forever home. As fate would have it within a few weeks it was abundantly clear this sweet, tender, incredibly broken girl was the love of my life and over the next ten years she and I would end up of forming an unwavering bond built on love, understanding, and trust.

I lost Lily on July 14, 2023 and though my heart is permanently scarred because I am no longer able to physically touch her or laugh at her insistence that it is time for a meal, I do communicate with her regularly. Not the same for sure, but still I know she’s here, and that we will be together again one day.

Lily, so insightfully as she did everything in her life, guided me to Interspecies Communication. In the world of animal communication it is widely believed that animals are here with us to teach us soul level lessons. I know now that one of Lily’s life lessons for me was to teach me my life’s purpose: to bring healing to non-human animals who suffered trauma just like her and just like me.

Once Lily showed me my path I got to work learning and developing my craft. My training includes extensive coursework from some of the most sought-after and well known teachers in the world of Animal Communication. I was initially instructed by Polly Klein, a professional Animal Communicator who trained at the Assisi Institute and who has been practicing and teaching for more than a decade. From the Daniel MacKinnon school I studied the profound practice of Soul Level Animal Communication. I received my certification from Anita Denise, an internationally acclaimed AC, educator, and Advanced Spiritual Master Teacher. And most recently I studied under Penelope Smith, considered to be a pioneer in Animal Communication, who has been practicing and teaching this art form since the 70’s.

Additionally, I am a certified All Species Reiki practitioner taught by the incredible Nancy Windheart. I practice Reiki on myself and my own dogs and can’t say enough about the many benefits of this incredible healing modality.

And while I don’t practice mediumship professionally, I am also a practicing medium taught by James Van Praagh.

My Ethos

HONORING THE INDIVIDUALITY OF ALL BEINGS

TRUST

I have always known that animals are sentient, intelligent beings in their own right who deserve our trust and respect.

As humans, our natural instinct is to think we are more advanced than animals. My experience tells me the opposite is true. Animals have a far deeper understanding of the universe and their role in it than we do so whether I’m sharing Reiki or communicating with an animal I will always trust and honor their individuality in every interaction I have.

DIGNITY

We share this world with animals, insects, fish and creatures of all kinds and as such it is our responsibility to honor each soul’s innate right to be treated with dignity.

My approach when working with animals is to speak with them as if I were speaking to a peer - to treat them with respect and as the unique individuals they are.
